Molly Rose Quinn was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, and her writing has appeared in Four Way Review, Two Serious Ladies, The Fiddleback, Freerange Nonfiction, and is forthcoming from Parallax.
She works as a producer for the literary programs at Symphony Space in Manhattan, and recently joined the fiction committee for the 2014 Brooklyn Book Festival. She lives in Brooklyn, where she has taught writing at Word Bookstore and with the Sackett Street Writers Workshop, and works with The Atlas Review.
Ivy Pochoda is the author of the critically acclaimed novel Visitation Street, published by Ecco/Dennis Lehane Books. Visitation Street was chosen as an Amazon Best Book of the Month, Amazon Best Book of 2013, and a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection.
Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Huffington Post, Self, and House & Garden. Her first novel The Art of Disappearing, was published by St. Martin’s Press in 2009. Ivy has a BA from Harvard College in Classical Greek and an MFA from Bennington College in fiction. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY and currently lives in downtown Los Angeles with her husband Justin Nowell.
Jason Porter writes fiction. He is a graduate of the Hunter College MFA program. His novel, Why Are You So Sad?, was shortlisted for the Paris Literary Prize.
In the mean time Jason is waist deep in a new novel with themes that include: aging, fisticuffs, ghost limbs, snowfall, corn stalks, and mythical creatures. The title for this novel in progress changes on a weekly basis. Currently it is referring to itself, without the author’s consent, as The Mayor of Basic Cable. But that title will never last. How could it?
Howard Feinstein is the author of the memoir FIRE ON THE BAYOU, which focuses on the many years he spent as a prosecutor and civil litigator with the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, seeking justice for victims of the Ku Klux Klan and other racially-motivated terrorist organizations and individuals.
Howard has taught at George Washington University, the University of Maryland, and Hood College. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California in 1968, and graduated With Honors from George Washington University Law School in 1972.
As “Hurricane Howie”, he is a much sought-after performing and recording musician. While in the South during his years as a civil rights attorney, he became captivated by the wide-ranging gumbo of Louisiana’s musical styles, including its colorful piano tradition and Cajun and Zydeco accordion culture.
Julia Fierro is the author of Cutting Teeth, a novel, to be released by St. Martin’s Press in May 2014. Cutting Teeth was recently included on “Most Anticipated Books of 2014” lists by HuffPost Books, The Millions , Flavorwire and Marie Claire. Julia’s work has been published, or is forthcoming, in Guernica Magazine, The Millions, Flavorwire and other publications, and she has been profiled in the L Magazine, Brooklyn Magazine, The Observer and The Economist. She is a graduate of The Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow, and currently teaches the Post-MFA workshops at Sackett Street.
