The Paris Review launched a blog today. You can’t read all of their content online, but you still want something current and fulfilling, so this is great. Lorin Stein wrote that this makes them participants and “amateurs” in the spirit of George Plimpton. I like this idea.
And I like how it’s off to the side of the page, and doesn’t dominate it, still allowing the current content to be highlighted. I’m imagining their blog might be a lot like Book Bench from The New Yorker or Jacket Copy from The L.A. Times.
